How do I use Pulse events in Klaviyo flows?

Pulse sends first-party customer events from your website into Klaviyo. You can use these Pulse events as triggers and dynamic content in your Klaviyo flows to create more accurate, personalised campaigns.

How Pulse works with Klaviyo

Pulse captures customer actions on your website - such as product views, cart activity, and purchases - and synchronises them directly into Klaviyo.

You can use these events to:

  • Trigger flows

  • Personalise emails with real product data

  • Improve targeting and timing

Pulse events work for both new flows and existing flows.

Using Pulse events in new flows

When creating a new Klaviyo flow:

  1. Choose a Pulse event as the trigger (e.g. Pulse – Added to Cart).

  2. Build your emails as normal.

  3. Use Pulse event properties to insert dynamic content like product names, images, or prices.

  4. Test your flow using Klaviyo’s preview and test tools.

Common Use Cases

  • Browse Abandonment: Triggers by Pulse - Item Viewed or Pulse - Viewed Page

    • Trigger a flow to remind users of recently viewed products.

    • Include dynamic recommendations for related or complementary items.

  • Abandoned Cart: Triggered by Pulse - Added to Cart

    • Send personalised reminders with cart details, product images, and pricing.

    • Offer discounts / free shipping to nudge hesitant shoppers toward checkout.

  • Post-Purchase: Triggered by Pulse - Purchased

    • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and product care tips.

    • Include post-purchase recommendations using event properties.

  • Re-engagement: Triggered by Pulse - Cart Viewed or Pulse - Collection Viewed

    • Identify customers who have viewed / added-to-cart but not converted.

    • Send targeted campaigns with personalised suggestions, discounts etc.
