How do I migrate my Klaviyo flow to use Pulse events?

Clone your existing flow, change the trigger to the relevant Pulse event, update the email content to use Pulse properties, then activate the new flow and deactivate the old one to avoid sending duplicate emails.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Clone your existing flow
In Klaviyo, go to Flows. Find the flow you want to migrate, click the three dots on the right, and select Clone.

  2. Update the flow trigger

Open the cloned flow and rename it (e.g., "Abandoned Cart - Pulse"). Change the trigger to the relevant Pulse event (e.g., "Pulse - Added to Cart"). See: What Pulse events are available?

  3. Adjust the email content

Click the email block, select Edit email, and update dynamic content fields to use Pulse Event properties. Use Klaviyo's Preview & Test feature to find the property keys (like product names, images, or prices).

  4. Activate the new flow and deactivate the old one

Once you've confirmed everything works, activate the new Pulse-based flow. Deactivate your original flow to avoid sending duplicate emails.

Pro tip: Add a Flow Filter in the old flow's Trigger Setup to exclude customers who triggered the new Pulse flow. This helps prevents overlap during transitions.
