Before you start:
Reviews must already be enabled on your Shopify store
If not, see: How do I enable reviews on my Shopify store?
Step-by-Step:
Activate the Product Ratings program
Log in to Google Merchant Center
In the left menu, go to Growth → Manage programs
Find Product Ratings and click Get Started
Complete the interest form
Fill out the Product Ratings Interest Form.
For "Do you work with an approved third-party reviews aggregator?" select No
Submit the form and wait for Google's approval email (this may take a few days)
Create your reviews feed
Once approved, go to Marketing → Product Reviews → Product reviews feeds.
Click Add feed
Enter a name
Choose your upload method
Upload your reviews (Choose ONE method)
Method 1 - Use a URL (recommended):
If your reviews platform (Okendo, Judge.me, etc.) provides a public URL:
Select Scheduled fetch,
Enter the URL,
Set how often Google should pull new reviews
Method 2 - Upload a file:
Export reviews from your Shopify reviews app (usually under Settings → Import/Export)
Save as XML, TSV, or CSV
In Google Merchant Centre, select Upload
Upload your file
Confirm and monitor
After uploading, GMC will process your feed and show a confirmation
Check Marketing → Product Reviews → Product reviews feeds to:
Check feed status
Fix any errors if needed
